Roseland, Cornwall – Harpland – with Graham Fitkin
We are delighted to perform locally at Gerrans and Portscatho Memorial Hall on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula.
Over the last year I have been exploring the theme of Migration in it’s many forms. Composer Graham Fitkin has re-composed old Gaelic songs and tunes from bagpipe and fiddle books for my three harps – the buzzing Renaissance bray harp, the beautiful medieval Gaelic wire harp (clàrsach) and the Scottish lever harp. The ancient music is re-imagined in looping, evolving patterns. Graham introduces the evening and talks about the stories of migration connected to the music, as well as performing a couple of body percussion pieces with me.
