Heydon, Norfolk – Harpland
The Norfolk Churches Trust are promoting our concert in the historic church of St Peter and St. Paul in Heydon.
Over the last year I have been exploring the theme of Migration in it’s many forms. Composer Graham Fitkin has re-composed old Gaelic songs and tunes from bagpipe and fiddle books for my three harps – the buzzing Renaissance bray harp, the beautiful medieval Gaelic wire harp (clàrsach) and the Scottish lever harp. The ancient music is re-imagined in looping, evolving patterns. Graham introduces the evening and talks about the stories of migration connected to the music.
Drinks and canapes are served before the concert in arguably one of the prettiest villages in the country. Tickets are £20 and include wine and canapes. Please book in advance through the Norfolk Churches Trust website https://norfolkchurchestrust.org.uk/events/. Any queries about the event can be directed to amelia@barninghamestate.co.uk .
The event has been kindly organised by David & Rhona Horton-Fawkes and all profits from the evening will be divided between the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Heydon and the Norfolk Churches Trust.
